Program Overview

The OHSU Global Southeast Asia Siriraj hospital clinical elective provides a mentored global health immersion experience which introduces medical students to the factors contributing to health and disease globally through the lens of experiential learning in SE Asia. Opportunities for medical student experiences are now available by way of a OHSU partner institution at Siriraj Hospital allowing for students to expand their clinical skills in diverse clinical settings in a country which faces remarkably different health challenges than one sees in the US. More broadly, the elective aims to deepen student understanding of and appreciation for international medical care so that they might be more culturally aware and effective practitioners after returning to the United States when they have opportunity to apply these life changing skills.
